About Yantai
Yantai, alternately known as Zhifu or Chefoo,
is a coastal prefecture-level city on the Shandong Peninsula in northeastern Shandong province of People's Republic of
China. Lying on the southern coast of the Bohai Strait, Yantai borders Qingdao on the southwest
and Weihai on the east, with sea access to both the Bohai Sea (via the Laizhou Bay and the Bohai Strait)
and the Yellow Sea (from both north and
south sides of the Shandong Peninsula). It is the largest fishing seaport in Shandong.

Climate
Yantai has a monsoon influenced humid subtropical climate (Cwa) with hot, humid, and rainy summers along with dry, cold winters.

Penglai Pavilion(蓬莱阁): It is known as the landing place of the Eight Immortals and famous for its occasional mirages. The dividing line between the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea is also marked and clearly visible from the area.

Kunyu Mountain(昆嵛山): Kunyu Mountain is a high and vast mountain towering over areas of Yantai and neighboring Weihai. It is the highest mountain in the east of the Shandong Peninsula, with the highest peak over 900 meters above sea level.

Zhaohushan National Forest Park(招虎山国家森林公园): Zhaohushan National Forest Park locates 8 kilometers northeast of the urban area of Haiyang City away from Yantai. Zhaohushan National Forest Park's pleasant climate has nurtured abundant wildlife resources. The park has more than 200 species of the woody plants, more than 400 species of the herbs, and 168 species of wild animals, which becomes a natural ecological paradise. During the summer, various flowers are blooming alongside the brook, which is very spectacular.
